About me

I’m a communications and brand consultant with a background in youth and health charities.

  • I’ve led communications and marketing in-house and freelance for large and small charities, start-ups, scale-ups, and funders. I’ve created new brands from scratch, managed brand refreshes, full rebrands and name changes.  


  • I specialise in brand and communications strategy but also love creating innovative content and writing crystal clear copy to catch an audience’s attention and keep it. 


  • I’ve been described as ‘sunshine personified (but without the sunburn)’! I always approach any challenge with a focus on the solutions and the positive energy to tackle them.

  • I have a knack for seeing a simple path through complexity and I’m not afraid to ask you tough (and sometimes basic!) questions in the hunt for clarity and simplicity in your comms.


  • I spend time getting to know the communications issue you’re trying to solve and gather insights from your team, donors, partners, and the marginalised groups you work with to find the right solutions for your organisation and objectives.


  • I work with your favourite agencies or bring in my own who combine their expertise (in digital, design, market research, web development) with mine so that your brand and comms are always the very best they can be.

My experience

I’ve spent 15+ years creating and running great brand and communications strategies for charities.

My last seven years leading communications in-house for impact leader, Impetus, taught me much about the value of comms in improving a charity’s impact as well as reach. I created and led their comms forum, advising 17+ charities on their comms strategy and approach. 


To really make a difference, I’ve learned that good comms must keep a tight focus on the end goal, always. And I’ve developed the clarity of thought it takes to do that.  I’ve also learned to be ruthless; when resource is tight, only the right comms – that will actually help us achieve the end goal – will do.
